Future Activities

The 2nd Annual WKM Golf Outing benefiting West Kensington Ministry invites us to support this vital ministry in Norris Square by playing golf on May 31st. Scramble format at 1:00 pm shot-gun start, sign in at 11:30 am, and lunch at 12:00 noon. The donation is $150 per player. If you don’t play golf, there are many volunteer opportunities as well. Help make a difference by supporting the West Kensington Ministry. Please contact Linda Harter for more information.

The Women and Children’s Dinner sponsored by the Women’s Fellowship, will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. There is a new menu this year and the entertainment will be the Madrigal Singers from William Tennent High School. Our own Jose Recinos is a member of the group. Tickets will be on sale today and May 5 in the library after the service. The cost is $15/adult and $11/children 3-11; under age 3 are free. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the dinner.

There will be a Boating Safety class sponsored by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary on Saturday, May 4 from 7 am to 5 pm in the Social Hall which provides Federal and all State certifications. Our church family folks will be charged a reduced fee of $40 per person and a light lunch is included. Please contact Bill Eisenhower at 215-674-2377 or wee1@iname.com.

A reminder that the Membership and Outreach Committees are looking to see if the church is interested in hosting an American Red Cross blood drive. We need to provide 35 blood donors and also volunteers to assist in clearing and resetting the social hall and to serve at the registration and refreshment tables before the drive can be scheduled. Please sign up in the narthex with your interest in volunteering to either give blood or support the drive. Contact Jonna Eiser with any questions.

Walking and Working Together The youth mission trip is scheduled for June 23 through June 29 to work again with Renewing Homes of Greater Augusta (RHGA) to rehab homes for those in need of a hand up. We have received a warm welcome back to stay at First Presbyterian Church of Staunton and look forward to helping our youth make a difference in the lives of others. Please support our youth by participating in our fundraiser by sponsoring one or more walkers in their 6-mile hike around Lake Galena ($6 each) or sponsoring a worker for $321 for the 321 miles to Staunton, Va. The Walk will take place on Sunday, May 5 (rain date May 19). Please place donations in an envelope marked “Youth Scholarship Fund” in the offering plate or in the church office. Thank you for your generosity and supporting the faith formation of our young people.

Do you have unwanted Sunday coupons??? The Deacons will use your unwanted coupons! Just place them into the marked basket outside the Library. No need to clip - the Deacons will take care of that.
